My oldest completed elementary school just a few weeks ago, and it was a bittersweet event. While on one hand, we are so proud of her for doing so well this year, on the other hand we are so sad to see all those sweet years end, in what feels like a blink of an eye. Toddlerhood tends to go slowly because the days feel long when you are chasing them around all day long, but once they are through with Kindergarten, the days, weeks and years just feel so fast. And for this summer, I want to try to make the most of every moment, even the slow, “boring” days. Soon enough, she’ll transform into a full tween, with tween problems and up + downs. A new journey for all of us.
The promotion ceremony was absolutely adorable. We have some amazing volunteers at our school, who seem to have endless energy. Our theme was from the movie “UP”, and was titled “Promoting UP”. We had balloons everywhere, lights and colorful decorations to make an otherwise dull auditorium very pretty.
Given that it was a small space with over 300 adults + students, it was going to be HOT. So while many parents were dressed beautifully in dresses + jumpsuits. I chose to stay casual + comfortable. I chose a basic cap sleeve blouse, and a pair of sateen joggers. I just styled them with gold jewelry and heels to give a more “dressy” feel. It was the best decision as I was up + down from my seats several times to take pictures, video record songs, etc.
I highly recommend this outfit for any event where you will be moving around, want to be comfortable. You can find my items here on ShopStyle. I linked my exact pieces.
Now it’s time to get back to summer life, and enjoying all those crazy moody moments 😉
